Sharp D4 - Cell Phone Operated by Windows Vista
Sharp has recently announted the very first cell phone running Microsoft Windows Vista. This communicatir will be basef on the Atom - new processor by Intel, designed for the ultra-mobile devices. Even though Intel’s Atom processors have not been officially released yet, Sharp has already released specs on their new cell phone.
The phone has some descent hardware inside:
Intel Atom 1.33GHz processor, 1GB of 533MHz DDR2 memory, and a 40GB 1.8″ hard drive. Sharp D4 finally blurs the line between ultra-mobile PCs and UMPC and mobile phone. This device will run Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. A full QWERTY keyboard is supported. There is a 802.11b/g Wi-Fi of course and bluetooth.
The 5″ screen shows an impressive resolution of 1024×600. MicroSD slot will allow to expand internal memory if needed. And yes, it is a cameraphone - there is a 2MP camera.
Sharp D4 will be available in Japan in June for ¥128,600 ($1,275/£647/€811). By the way, in june Intel’s Atom processors are being launched onto the market.
